peculiar life | photography collaboration

i was lucky enough in life to meet a new friend, Amanda of Amanda Marie Photography, who is totally awesome! She is a such a wonderful photographer so go check her out!

we are working on a special and whimsical project together that i LOVE so much and am so happy to be a part of, The Peculiar Lives Of Children. 

To sum it up without doing it justice, Amanda gives your child a creative session of adventure based on their own imaginations and playfulness. I then illustrate images into the photos and the end result is a magical storybook of photos and illustrations that is fully devoted to your child and their wonderment.

taking names

working on some custom name prints for the little ones in my life. hand lettering + drawing of simple images and textures. it has been satisfying my instant gratification need along with my love of writing and doodling. and they are just so cute, right!?

 i am currently taking orders for custom name prints - if interested send me an email! they are perfect for new babies, kids and couples!

show time

i have been missing in action for awhile now... but with good reason! i have been prepping for my only holiday show this year, DUCF! it's one of my favorite shows to do + i am super happy to be a part of it again this year!!

small collection

i have been working on some new patterns for a small collection! i am really loving it so far! i ordered a couple of swatches from spoonflower to see it printed on cotton and i can't wait for them to arrive. these are just the first handful of designs so far :

i am aiming to to have it available for fabric, art prints, digital papers and photography templates...speaking of photography templates, that is something i plan on focusing on in the new year. i have made a handful so far and having some of my photographer friends

try them out.

sketching

i have been trying to sketch something during the day ... just simply sketching something. anything and without much structure to myself. just pencil to paper. sometimes it turns into something i feel i want to add color to and other times i want to crumple it up and never look at it again. here are a couple recent sketches that i have added color to.. and the rule with that is also, simple. play without much structure. try something you don't think you will like - something that makes you uncomfortable.

that's how you grow or gain another point of view.

patterns

i have always enjoyed sewing and home goods. i have always enjoyed color and shapes and lines and texture. i have always hoped to some day have my work licensed for textile/home goods/paper goods. i may attempt small runs through spoonflower. i am starting to work towards adding some printed fabric to my immediate goal of shop goods that i offer. i have been creating some pattern work designs intended for that purpose but are also available as prints when the new shop opens. here is two of my favorites :
